Rare White Nagamani Cobra Pearl Pendant in Sterling Silver

White Nagamani is the rarer of the two cobra pearls we carry. Most genuine
specimens that surface are black. White ones appear far less often, which is
why this piece is set the way it is.

Sterling silver, custom made, with a King Centipede Mustika Pearl embedded
into the back of the setting. The centipede pearl is carried specifically for
wealth fetching, so the piece works as a pairing rather than a single stone.

In Hindu and Buddhist tradition, Nagamani is a gemstone of Nagaloka, the serpent
realm. The texts hold that before humankind the earth belonged to the Vasuki, a
serpent race, and that the hidden wealth of the world remains under their
keeping. A Nagamani is understood as a key to that hidden store, with what it
opens arriving gradually and in accordance with the owner's own merit and timing.

Among gemstone collectors it is one of the most prized items in the tradition. In
Tantra Veda it is counted among five great mystic stones, and it is considered the
only one of the five a person can realistically hope to obtain.

There is a taboo attached to it worth knowing before you buy. Tradition holds that
whoever prospers through Nagamani must not turn away someone in need who asks for
help, including an enemy.

ON RARITY, AND WHY IT MATTERS HERE

Nagamani is difficult to source honestly. A great deal of what is sold online
under this name is glass or common polished stone, and buyers rarely have a way
to tell. We are direct about this because it is the whole basis of the purchase.

White specimens compound that difficulty. Where black Nagamani turns up with
some regularity, white does not, and a genuine white stone is usually spoken for
before it reaches a listing. If you are buying as a collector rather than for
daily wear, this is the one worth holding.

One clarification, since it comes up often. This is not the mythical red
Nagamani said to glow in darkness. That does not exist.
